Bodegas Vinos Piñol Portal White 2007

  • Area: Spain, Terra Alta
  • Grape: 70% White Garnacha, 20% Sauv Blanc, 5% Viognier, 5% Macaebo (Viura)
  • Alcohol: 13.5%
  • Rating: Black 90 Dilettante 90

Description: The nose is brimming with tropical fruits, mango, pineapple, peach, apricot and roses. The attack is crisp and dry like a lettuce leaf. Refined and sophisticated in the mouth, the flavors carry from the nose to the tongue. This wine is very fruity and very dry with just enough glycerin to soften the edges nicely. The finish has grassy elements and some apricot. We really liked this one and think it would go with a variety of foods. Definitely one to keep on hand. So far, every wine we have tried from Bodegas Vinos Pinol has been excellent-- their reds, sweet desert wines and now their white.

    Price: $14

Note: Mr Z, we think you would really like this one.
