Cayuga Ridge Estate Orange Muscat

Description: Inviting aroma of peach, apricot, honeysuckle and burnt oranges. Sweet, lush and elegant, this nectar of the gods offers up flavors of honeysuckle, clementine, almonds, caramel cream, a hint of vanilla and a nice grounding herbal note. The drawn out finish has a surprising sweet/tart element with just a touch of bitter caramel.

Lucas Vineyards Vignoles 2007

Description: Flavors of nectarine, tangerine and apricot highlight a honey, glycerin core. The finish has a nice lift with a hint of caramel. We really liked this one.

Keuka Overlook Cellars Johannisberg Riesling 2005

Description: This desert wine is surprisingly crisp and refreshing. Notes of pear, tangerine zest, paeches, and apricots. Clingy in the mouth with a nice amount of glycerine doesn't take away from it's zest. The finish is bold with a note of honey.

Price: $11 excellent value

Note: Great with roquefort. Only available directly from the winery.

Dr. Konstantin Frank Fleur de Pinot Noir (no vintage)

Description: The nose and palate are in sync. Elements of cherry, raspberry, blackberry and a hint of vanilla are supported by tones of forest floor. The finish is lingering and clean. The distinctive Finger Lakes terroir enhances the character of this Pinot.

Dr. Konstantin Frank Rkatsiteli 2006

  • Area: New York, Finger Lakes, Keuka
  • Grape: Rkatsiteli
  • Alcohol: 12%
  • Rating: Black 90 Dilettante 90 Nwjr 93
Description: The nose has aromas of florals, wet stone, mango and a little minty spice. The attack is sweet and citrusy with flavors of uber-fresh peach, mango, strawberry and pineapple. On the tongue there is a tingling, racy acidity. The finish is crisp and clean with tones of red grapefruit, white pepper and watermelon. Nwjr said, "this grape is like a combination of Reisling and Gruner Veltliner". We would certainly buy this one again.

Food Pairing: This wine was perfect with a pan-seared Corvina in beurre blanc.

Hermann J. Wiemer Dry Riesling 2006

  • Grape: Riesling

  • Rating: Black; 89 Dilettante; 90 NWJR; 95
Description: The nose is a fruity combination of pineapple, green apple and citrus. In the mouth its soft and lush. Flavors of grapefruit, pineapple and citrus are accented by a very light sweetness with enough acidity to give it interest. All this is orchestrated into a glorious balance of flavor and body. NWJR: "This is one of my two most favored Rieslings."

Food Pairing: This pairs perfectly with spicy hot Asian food
