  • Alcohol: 12.7%
  • Rating: Black 94 Dilettante 95
Description: Inviting aroma of peach, apricot, honeysuckle and burnt oranges. Sweet, lush and elegant, this nectar of the gods offers up flavors of honeysuckle, clementine, almonds, caramel cream, a hint of vanilla and a nice grounding herbal note. The drawn out finish has a surprising sweet/tart element with just a touch of bitter caramel.

Bodegas Vinos PiƱol Mistela Vi De Licor 2004

  • Area: Spain, Terra Alta
  • Grape: White Grenache
  • Alcohol: 15%
  • Rating: Black; 93 Dilettante; 96 Nwjr; 95 The Z; 95
Description: This sweet desert wine is dark amber in color with complex and powerful aromas of honeycomb, maraschino cherry, honeysuckle and peach. The mouth feel is clingy and rich. Thick and bold flavors of honeycomb, strawberry, and peach are balanced nicely by coffee and licorice. The finish is lingering with slightly bitter tones giving the overall sipping experience lift, depth, balance and complexity. Wine Advocate gave this one a 95. This is definitely a favorite of mine. It was served at 66 degrees. Don't over-chill this one.

Price: $24.99 Desert wines this good are rarely priced this low.

Santadi Latinia 2002

  • Alcohol: 14%
  • Rating: Black; 95 Dilettante;100 NWJR; 98

Description: Venice in a glass. Of all the wines tasted on that roof top lounge, this is my favorite. Amber in color, this wine is lush and bold with rich flavors of honey, apricots, cloves and a hint of orange blossom. The sweetness and acidity are in perfect harmony. I love this wine. Beastly hard to find, it's worth every penny of it's rich price tag.
