Dr. Konstantin Frank Rkatsiteli 2006

  • Area: New York, Finger Lakes, Keuka
  • Grape: Rkatsiteli
  • Alcohol: 12%
  • Rating: Black 90 Dilettante 90 Nwjr 93
Description: The nose has aromas of florals, wet stone, mango and a little minty spice. The attack is sweet and citrusy with flavors of uber-fresh peach, mango, strawberry and pineapple. On the tongue there is a tingling, racy acidity. The finish is crisp and clean with tones of red grapefruit, white pepper and watermelon. Nwjr said, "this grape is like a combination of Reisling and Gruner Veltliner". We would certainly buy this one again.

Price: $17
Food Pairing: This wine was perfect with a pan-seared Corvina in beurre blanc.
