Bodega Septima 2007

  • Area: Argentina, Mendoza
  • Grape: Malbec
  • Alcohol: 14%
  • Rating: Black 89, Dilettante 89, Nwjr 88

Description: Color; dark red with violet reflections. On the nose intense aromas of flowers, plums and vanilla waft out of the glass. Flavors of spice, earth, smoke, and a bright hint of pomegranate wrap around a red candy apple core. Tempranillo like, this malbec shouts, "ole!" Nice balance and persistence.

A bit tight on opening, it loosens up after 15 min in the decanter. After 40 min, it morphs into something very fruity, sweet and chewy.

Price:
$10
