Calvet-Thunevin Cuvee Constance 2005

  • Area: France, Languedoc-Roussillon
  • Grape: 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 10% Carignan (a.k.a. CariƱena)
  • Alcohol: 14.5%
  • Rating: Black 94 Dilettante 90
Description: This wine is aged 9 months exclusively in cement. The provocative nose has elements of graphite, cream de cassis and black raspberry jam. Even though this blend leans more towards the high notes, it has a liqueur-like richness with tones of bitter chocolate, coffee, wet stone and pure ripe fruit. The finish is long, juicy and elegant. Decanting not required.

Food Pairing: Orange Duck
