- Area: Argentina, Tupungato
- Grape: Malbec
- Alcohol: 13.5%
- Rating: Black 87, Dilettante 86, Nwjr 85
Description: From Tupungato, just south of Mendoza, comes this great bargain. The nose has elements of burnt caramel, cherry, dark plums and a spicy note. Firm acidity is buffered by sweet fruit flavors of red cherry and cocoa. This has a rich mouth feel with a long finish and nice tannins. Black said, "Regal Crown Sour Cherry." Nwjr said, "This is the most un-malbec possible." Dilettante said, "It’s more like a cab than a malbec. For 8 bucks, it's really good."
Decanting required for at least 30 min. It's very tight when first opened.
Food pairing: Bergers, meatlof and the like
