Bodega Catena Zapata 2005

  • Area: Argentina, Mendoza
  • Grape: Malbec
  • Alcohol: 13.5%
  • Rating: Black; 90 Dilettante; 91 NWJR; 92

Description: Deep dark purple. The nose is filled with dark fruits, violets and a hint of popcorn. In the mouth it’s lush and smooth. Bold flavors of dark fruit, earth tones and chocolate are followed by hints of cardamom, cherry, toast and vanilla. The finish is long and well balanced. We loved it. There’s a lot going on here.

Food Pairing: great with steak, tacos, manicotti, meat loaf and chocolate.
TV Pairing: Lost, Dexter, CSI
