Domaine La Garrigue 2005

  • Area: France, Rhone, Vacqueyras
  • Grape: Grenache, Mouvedre, Syrah, Cinsault
  • Alcohol: 14%
  • Rating: Black: 97 Dilettante: 96

Description: Dense plum/purple color with a nose of herbs, grilled meats, blackberries, jammy cherries and licorice. In the mouth it's soft and supple with perfect peaks and valleys. Flavors of dark fruit and earth tones precede a wonderfully dry and concentrated finish. This one really does have the character of a much more expensive wine. Decanting for a few minutes brings out the softness and complexities of this beauty.

Food Pairing: Stewed rabbit in the French style, orange duck, dark chocolate.
TV Pairing: The Tudors
