The Left Bank 2007

  • Area: South Africa, Western Cape
  • Grape: 58% Cab Sauv, 42% Syrah
  • Alcohol: 13.5%
  • Rating: Black 88 Dilettante 88 Nwjr 89 Mom 90
Description: Smoky spice and prunes on the nose. The attack is bright and tangy with notes of cranberry. Vibrant red fruits and a clean minerality follow through to the cranberry tart finish. This wine has more high notes than low. Decanting for a half our takes the acidity down and brings out a little candy apple sweetness. Screw top.

Price: $8 an excellent bargain
