  • Area:Spain, Rioja
  • Grape: 80% Tempranillo, 10% Mazuelo, 10% Garnacha
  • Alcohol: 13.5%
  • Rating: Black 89 Dilettante 89
Description: The nose has aromas of dark plums, coffee bean, licorice, wood tones and a hint of flowers. In the mouth there is a nice intensity balanced by a soft and lightly chewy mouth feel. Flavors of licorice, a hint of oak and a wild strawberry high note are wrapped around a dark fruit core. The Lan is quite dry with a touch of New World brightness. The lingering finish is bitter-sweet. Decant 15-20 minutes to soften it up a bit.

Price: $16

Note: Red sauce brings out a sweetness that isn't there alone.
