Indaba Pinotage 2006

  • Area: South Africa, Western Cape
  • Grape: Pinotage
  • Alcohol: 14.5%
  • Rating: Black 80, Dilettante 77, Nwjr 80

Description: This pungent pugilist performs perniciously. The nose is made up of banana, damp earth and something mysterious that reminded us of old pantyhose. Strong flavors of bitter cherries, mulberries and cheep imitation vanilla extract are wrapped around a worn pantyhose core. The tight finish had elements of quinine and green apples. I found the Indaba difficult, if not impossible, to drink. In my opinion, this wine is suited only for cooking mushrooms. Decanting did not help.

Price: $8

Of course, this review is just our opinion. I'm sure some people would disagree.
