Tamaral Reserva 2001

  • Area: Spain, Ribera del Duero
  • Grape: Old Vine Tempranillo (Tinta Fina)
  • Alcohol: 14%
  • Rating: Black; 88 Dilettante; 88
Description: This wine has a deep and rich aroma of smoky wood, nuts, dried fruit with a touch of pool liner. Flavors of chocolate, coffee, dried fruits & nuts with an earthy undertone give this wine serious depth. As it breathes, notes of cherry and pomegranate appear. A juicy mouth-feel lightens the heavier flavors, giving it great balance. The long finish is bone dry with a slightly woody edge. Decanting not required although some light airing adds to the complexity.

Food Pairing: moussaka, grilled lamb
