Layer Cake Malbec 2007

  • Area: Argentina, Mendoza
  • Grape: Malbec
  • Alcohol: 13.9%
  • Rating: Black; 90 Dilettante; 92

Description: Color; dense purple core with a brilliant red rim. The nose is jammed with dark ripe berries and spice. On the palate it's soft and lush with enough acidity to give it a nice lift. Bold flavors of dark fruit wrap around a musky, earthy core. This unusual malbec has a very fruity attack and a dry finish. We liked this one. Decanting not required.

Food Pairing: Red meat, of course.
Musical Pairing: Massive Attack
