Sierra Cantabria Crianza 2003

  • Area: Spain, Rioja
  • Grape: Tempranillo
  • Alcohol: 13.5%
  • Rating: Black; 88 Dilettante; 89 NWJR; 87

Description: Dark red with a spicy floral nose. Very smooth and lightly creamy on the tongue. Flavors of dried red cherry, earth and a hint of roasted spices are complicated by soft florals. The supple tannins are balanced with just enough acidity to give it a bold lift on the finish. Decanting not required, however 20 minutes in the decanter brings out the florals. We really liked this one.

Food Pairing: Surprisingly good with tacos. This would also be good with lamb or a grilled steak.
TV Pairing: Torchwood
